Free Food

McDonald's is giving away a Free McSkillet with purchase of a medium or large drink tomorrow morning. I've never had a McSkillet but I'll give it a shot. Good way to start a Friday! :)

I Made It!

Well, here I am. I made it through the first day back. And it actually went well. The drop-off at daycare wasn't too bad and I didn't even cry. I did leave him with one of Ashley's old teachers so I knew he was in very good hands. Everyone at work was happy to see me and told me how cute Preston is, so that helped.

The evening was crazier and I hadn't really planned past getting to work. So now I have to figure out how to balance everything at night. Thankfully I have a great husband who helps me out with everything.

My next goal is to find some things to cook for dinner that are quick and easy- and maybe make enough for lunch the next day!

Back to Reality

Tomorrow is the big day, I go back to work. I have mixed feelings about it. I am looking forward to having adult interaction and of course, the paycheck. But I will miss Preston to pieces. The good thing is that I know the teachers in his room since Ashley had them in the past. They are all so excited he is coming and that makes me feel better.

Wish us luck!

Cheese!

Preston has started smiling, and I swear there is nothing more precious than a baby's toothless grin. He is growing so quickly already, it is really hard to believe. He is even sleeping through the night- something I never thought would happen at 2 months old!

Ashley is still doing great and taking her role of big sister very seriously. I think she has more patience than of us. She tries to soothe him when he is crying and it's really sweet to watch.

Tired of the Cold

We had a pretty good weekend. The weather was really awful- in the 40s and rainy. It's hard to keep a 3 year old busy when you can't go outside, but we managed. We went to Rainforest Cafe which Ashley loved, it was a lot of fun. Then we subjected ourselves (and our sanity) to Chuck E. Cheese. It is always a little disappointing to me as it is not like it used to be. No ball pit, no scary mechanical characters, etc. We all actually ended up having a great time.

I know we are all looking forward to seeing some sunshine. Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be here complaining about the insane heat in a few months. That is the fun of Texas weather.

I Heart Sandwiches

Here are the sandwiches I made for Ashley's Valentine party today. I'm no Martha Stewart, but I thought they turned out pretty cute. Nothing like making 20 heart-shaped turkey sandwiches at 7 a.m. :)

2 Weeks Left

Only 2 weeks to go until I return to work. It's hard to believe my little guy is almost 7 weeks old- where did the time go? I am looking forward to getting back into the world but I am going to miss him to pieces. I know he will be in good hands, but it will still be hard. I'm going to be pumping at work and I hope it will go smoothly. I think I am the most nervous about getting everyone ready and out the door in the morning! I need to start getting organized now. :)

Big Baby

How has it been over a week already?!

We've been keeping busy with Preston and Ashley. Preston has been having some issues lately so I took him to the doctor for what I suspected was reflux. Ashley had it as a baby so I knew the symptoms. He also seemed to have colic and his doctor told me that they now think that colic is really reflux in a lot of cases. We got some medication that will hopefully help him out, and let us get some sleep.
So I knew he had gained weight, but I was shocked- he weighs 10 pounds, 5 ounces. So he has gained 3 pounds in 4 weeks! Obviously the reflux isn't stopping him from packing on the pounds!
